The inaugural benefit event for The Mark Vann Foundation took place on Sunday, December 14th, at the Trilogy in Boulder, CO.  Fellow musicians and Brothers from Leftover Salmon, Vince Herman, Bill McKay, and Noam Pikelny were joined by a fresh new band to the Colorado front range, The Canine Unit, along with other very special guests including Pete and Joan Wernick, Bill’s Brother John McKay, and Will Downes of the Single Malt Band for a Holiday Celebration of Life, Love and Music!  The event raised more than $1,500 dollars in addition to more than 200 pounds of food that was donated by attendees participating in the MVF food drive.

Beneficiaries included the Music Maker Relief Foundation, The Van-Go Mobile Arts Project, The Steam Powered Preservation Society, and Community Food Share, Boulder & Broomfield Counties' community food bank.

Roll-n-Green Productions contributed an incredible stage set for the event including a giant fifteen foot banjo that served as a projection screen for a slide show highlighting the life and times of Mark Vann.  Jason Rizzi of DayO Knight Studios produced beautiful event posters and t-shirts which will soon be offered for sale through the Mark Vann Foundation web site.  Every person in attendance received a special event laminate to commemorate the evening.  A heart felt “Thank You” goes out to all who were a part of this magical night.
